On behalf of Prejudice Free Dorset it is with great sadness that I send our condolences to those affected by the vile criminal acts which took place in London last weekend. Our thoughts and support go to all those who have been touched by the events in Westminster, Manchester and London over the past weeks.
At this point in time it is vital that we stand together across all sections of the community and are not divided by the hate shown by the perpetrators of these acts.
Prejudice Free Dorset is a coalition of organisations and individuals who are committed to challenging prejudice and taking a stand against hate in all its forms. We ask all communities across Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole to join us in our endeavour to ensure that hate crime will never be tolerated, victims of crime will be supported and offenders will be brought to justice, where possible.
If you or someone you know is a victim of a hate incident or crime please report it to Dorset Police on 101 or via our website. Alternatively hate crime can be reported via the Dorset Police app or via 3rd party reporting centres across Dorset.
If you see or hear anything suspicious report this immediately by 999 or on the anti-terrorism hotline on 0800 789321.
Writing this I was reminded of the following quote “Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.” Martin Luther King Jnr.
